Born with the mind of a saviour, he is compelled to save them, but is challenged with the duty to stay safe and remain undisclosed. This dilemma provokes a debate of his integrity, where James' military experience conditioning him to live in duty and never in empathy is put into question.

Janusz Robertson is a British military veteran, a father and the author of What are the Chances?. After becoming disabled as a result of a hit and run, he had written the science-fiction novel to cope with these life-changing injuries and reminisce on his military days. During its development, he was able to demonstrate his humour and lust for life through his words in ways that reality made difficult.

Though hailing from a Scottish and Polish background, he lives in south Manchester as a husband to his wife, Jesusa, and daughter, Rochel Lucy, who aided in the development of What are the Chances? and is beginning her life at Sheffield Hallam University.
