About the Author
Michael Findlay was born in Scotland in 1945. Since the early 1960s he has been based in New York as an art dealer, in 1968 becoming the Director of one of the first galleries in the SoHo district. Subsequently he worked for Christies on its Board of Directors, and has supervised several major art collections.
A published poet, Findlay has also written a number of books on the art trade, the most recent, Portrait of the Art Dealer as a Young Man, published by Prestel in 2024. Tam's Tale is his first novel.
He has two children and is married to the contemporary quilt artist Victoria Findlay Wolfe. They live in Manhattan and East Hampton, New York.
