Description

People go to festivals for different reasons... Rowan, a caring and courageous young woman from a complicated home background, wants to prove herself as a weaver to people from all over Britain. But why doesn't her mother want her to make friends with anyone from the powerful Hawk tribe - which includes attractive Kelvan, who wants to be a full-time harpist, and forget he's the High King's grandson - and his friend Sparrow, who's on a quest to find a husband, and a volcano? As the Autumn Solstice festival week goes by, Rowan, supported by her lynx friend Kezzie, ends up finding out more about life, love - and who really killed her father! The first of a trilogy, set 4,000 years ago, but with modern twists. This is a YA novel but it has been found to appeal to a whole range of ages as the Harry Potter series of the Chronicles of Narnia do!

About the Author
Suzanne Stewart writes song lyrics, poems and short plays which have been performed at local festivals in the Bristol area. She is generally interested in music, and has been a drummer, which tends to creep into her stories! She also writes articles about cats, family life and school stories; they have been published in various magazines under the name of Sue Weekes. Sue belongs to a writing group, Cafe Corner Writers, which has produced anthologies they also use for performances - the most recent one is 'Beauty and The Beast'. She's also coordinated a songwriting collective, Act of Faith, and worked on literacy projects in schools and adult educational centres. Since leaving her full-time job as a careers adviser, Sue has had more time to concentrate on her writing, and has now completed a young adult novel set in the Bronze Age, but with a modern twist - 'Rowan The Dreamweaver'. This is meant to be the first in a trilogy, and she has already started working on Book 2. You can find out more about Sue's writing through her Facebook page: facebook.com/rowanthedreamweaver

Reviews
"This book is fun, and very exciting. I really felt I was back in the Bronze Age when I was reading it." - Aimee Towle, Trinity Academy, Bristol; "I loved every word of this book... I actually felt I was part of the conversations, something I've never felt before." - Yvonne Antrobus: author, actor and former abridger of 'Book at Bedtime'.

Absolutely Fantastic

This was my first time ordering from SciFier but it definitely won't be my last. When it comes to buying books online the packaging needs to be good, SciFier were great they used bubble wrap to make sure they arrived perfect. Amazing range of books that majority are lower priced than most book retailers. Wonderful service, I'll definitely be recommending to everyone. Thank you.
