Description

Join Lucy and the colourful cast of rowdy, rude and funny 'cut-out' characters in this warm and funny adventure for young readers from the internationally bestselling author Pat Hutchins, illustrated by Jessica Meserve.

What does a Princess have in common with rabble of swashbuckling pirates? Or a Knight? Or even a fire-breathing Dragon? They've all been cut out from their stories!

And the Princess isn't happy about it. Not one little bit.

Now it's up to Lucy to help them resolve their squabbles and untangle the endings to their stories.

Written by the beloved Pat Hutchins, author of classics such as The Wind Blew, Rosie's Walk and Where oh Where is Rosie's Chick, and superbly illustrated by CILIP Carnegie Medal nominated illustrator, Jessica Meserve, this lively story with a colourful cast of characters is perfect for sharing and reading aloud.

About the Author
Pat Hutchins illustrated and wrote over fifty children's books. She won the Kate Greenaway Award in 1974 for The Wind Blew, and was shortlisted for the same award five years later for One-Eyed Jack. She presented the TV series Rosie and Jim and played the role of the artistic narrowboat owner for two years. Illustrator Jessica Meserve has published several picture books and early readers including the Daisy Dawson series, Small and One Special Day: A Story for Big Brother and Sisters by Lola M. Schaefer. She enrolled on the MA in Children's Book Illustration at Anglia Ruskin, graduating in 2017 with a distinction. There she rediscovered her love of painting and drawing with watercolour, crayon, pencil and ink. In 2020 her picture book What Clara Saw was nominated for the CILIP Carnegie Medal.

Absolutely Fantastic

This was my first time ordering from SciFier but it definitely won't be my last. When it comes to buying books online the packaging needs to be good, SciFier were great they used bubble wrap to make sure they arrived perfect. Amazing range of books that majority are lower priced than most book retailers. Wonderful service, I'll definitely be recommending to everyone. Thank you.
