Description

A savage and complex thriller set in fogbound, wintry Milan, In the Name of Ishmael is the story of a secret cult of assassins and the two detectives who set out to reveal the truth about Ishmael, the group's heavily protected and enigmatic leader. Expertly weaving apparently unmatched threads in two separate time periods - mysterious child murders, a series of seemingly unconnected assassinations, the accident that killed Princess Diana, a disturbing society of sadomasochists, and the death of an Italian press magnate - Genna crafts a chilling and utterly compelling tale of political conspiracy and serial murder. Terror and spellbinding literary gamesmanship are at the heart of this daring fiction debut. In the Name of Ishmael is a gripping whodunit and stunning work of literary fiction.

About the Author
Giuseppe Genna was born in Milan in 1969. He has worked in Italian television and was the editor-in-chief of Poesia, a literary journal. In the Name of Ishmael (Atlantic 2004) was his first UK publication.

Reviews
"'Dark, seductive literary intrigue' Alan Furst; 'Genna is Italy's James Ellroy and this is his Italian tabloid: pitch-black, paranoid noir, full of iconic crimes, conspiracy theories and erotic undercurrents. Writing about the covert takeover of an entire country, Genna is on the cusp between fantasy and history. Much of what he describes really happened. The rest is artistic license. The combination is deeply disturbing but brilliantly compelling.' Tobias Jones, author, The Dark Heart of Italy"

Absolutely Fantastic

This was my first time ordering from SciFier but it definitely won't be my last. When it comes to buying books online the packaging needs to be good, SciFier were great they used bubble wrap to make sure they arrived perfect. Amazing range of books that majority are lower priced than most book retailers. Wonderful service, I'll definitely be recommending to everyone. Thank you.
