She resides in Stuart, Florida, with her husband and three children.
Sarita Rich grew up in northern Alaska spending afternoons snowed in, decorating the living room walls with abstract compositions in purple crayon. Once, she may or may not have been caught warming her Barbies in the toaster. Later, she became a middle school English teacher and then studied children's book illustration at the Rhode Island School of Design. She lives with her husband and daughter in New Haven, Connecticut.
