Description
The Fisherman's Daughter worries about her father and how he will find his way home from sea in the deep darkness when the Moon disappears. The Sun finds her crying and gives her one of his rays. He smashes it onto the ground, creating the stars and giving the girl the task of putting them into the dark night sky.
About the Author
Poonam Mistry is a freelance Illustrator currently living in the UK. Her style incorporates a love of nature and explores the relationships between pattern, shapes and colour creating beautifully intricate illustrations. Being brought up surrounded by Indian fabrics, paintings and ornaments have heavily influenced her work. Folklore tales and stories of Hindu Gods and Goddesses have been a rich source of inspiration in a number of her illustrations. Pieces are predominantly hand drawn with alterations made using PhotoShop. Past clients include ;American Express, ITV, BP Oil, UWC, Ogilvy, The Commonwealth Education Trust, Hachette, Amnesty International, Michael O'Mara Books, Buster Books, Lantana Publishing, Penguin Random House and Tate Publishing.
