Description

The land has been divided up to suit the wave of new inhabitants - and finding a home and making a living is increasingly difficult. Many are simply homeless, and at a loss as to what their future holds. What would you do if all you thought was precious was suddenly stripped from you? How would you live - and more importantly - where do you belong?

About the Author
Sally Abbott is a former journalist and a PR Director who lives in Central Victoria with her partner. She was the inaugural winner of The Richell Prize for Emerging Writers in 2015. CLOSING DOWN is her first novel.

Reviews
a polished, accomplished, imaginative novel - Sydney Morning Herald

Like all good speculative fiction, Sally Abbott has taken what's happening in the geo-politico-social sphere and ramped it up to the nth degree. - The Big Issue

The characters and their strange world are so powerfully drawn that the book's oppressive mood lingers with the reader long after they've looked up from the page. - The Saturday Paper

an arresting vision of survival and resilience in a broken world - Australian Review of Books

Closing Down is a fitting - if terribly foreshadowing - story for today's political climate. - Books + Publishing

I haven't been able to stop thinking about Sally Abbott's debut Closing Down since I finished reading it. - Readings

I absolutely loved Closing Down and strongly recommend everyone read it. - Readings

Abbott is strikingly effective at identifying the faultlines that run through our increasingly divided society and the degree to which the powerful immure themselves from the effects of their actions - Weekend Australian

Absolutely Fantastic

This was my first time ordering from SciFier but it definitely won't be my last. When it comes to buying books online the packaging needs to be good, SciFier were great they used bubble wrap to make sure they arrived perfect. Amazing range of books that majority are lower priced than most book retailers. Wonderful service, I'll definitely be recommending to everyone. Thank you.

My favourite pick for manga

Great delivery to EU, no issues with customs. Very good packaging. A nice selection of manga and, so far, the best prices I could find :)
