Description

Dive spoon-first into a big bowl of '80s nostalgia with lead Garbage Pail Kids artist Joe Simko and DC/Marvel and television writer Hans Rodionoff (Voltron, The Muppets Mayhem). With a laugh-out-loud foreword by Adam F. Goldberg, creator of TV's The Goldbergs, this first-in-series graphic novel serves up MAD-magazine energy, pop-culture mayhem, and cartoon craziness-wrapped in one sugary, collectible package.

Meet the CEREAL SAVAGES: four disgraced cereal mascots from the 1980s now struggling to survive in the modern world. With help from their middle-aged superfan Mike, they'll confront old demons, repair broken friendships, and battle an oozy, apocalyptic milk monster threatening the globe. It's heartfelt. It's ridiculous. It's crunchy chaos at its finest.

This LIMITED EDITION HARDCOVER is a treat all on its own, featuring shimmering blue foil-gilded page edges, a pink ribbon marker, and enough retro flavor to teleport you straight back to Saturday-morning cartoons.

Even R.L. Stine (Goosebumps) couldn't resist: "Are they superheroes-or just flakes? This hilarious book kept me choking with laughter till long after breakfast!"

About the Author
JOE SIMKO is currently the lead artist and writer of Garbage Pail Kids for the Topps company, as well as the co-creator of Craniacs. After graduating from the School of Visual Arts in New York, Simko worked as a full-time storyboard illustrator at GEM Studio, where he created countless storyboards for nationally aired television commercials throughout the early 2000s. Eventually, Joe began freelancing after hours from his storyboard job, designing show posters for local rock and punk bands in the city. These posters gained him enough exposure to lead to work designing artwork for acts such as Metallica, the Misfits, and many others-including serving as the main art designer for the Vans Warped Tour in 2006. In 2009, Simko began designing artwork for the Garbage Pail Kids and Wacky Packages brands for Topps. Joe found his true '80s-inspired passions through his own creations, such as Craniacs and now Cereal Savages. Joe lives in New York City with his wife, June, his son, Zy, and many, many boxes of cereal. His favorite cereal is Frankenberry.

HANS RODIONOFF is an accomplished writer known for his dynamic range of work across film, television, and comic books. With a knack for blending horror, humor, and pop culture, Rodionoff has built a career crafting offbeat and imaginative stories that resonate with fans of all ages. He has written for major studios including Marvel, Sony, and Warner Brothers, but his love for the weird and wonderful truly shines in his comedic projects. Most recently, he teamed up with Adam F. Goldberg to co-create Garbage Pail Kids: Origins for Dynamite Comics-a hilariously twisted take on the classic trading card brand that reimagines the infamous kids as mutant antiheroes in a gloriously bizarre origin story. He currently lives in Cognito, California, where he continues to write stories, build worlds, and plot his next ridiculous adventure.
