Dr. Flynn's back of volume 3's CV: "Edward R. Flynn, PhD is a physicist has published extensively in scientific journals on topics such as 'fundamental excitations in nuclei', 'measurement of magnetic fields from the human brain' and 'detection of cancer using nanotechnology'. He is a Fellow of the American Physical Society, a Fellow of the Los Alamos National Laboratory, a recipient of the Alexander von Humboldt Prize for Senior American Scientists. tting [sic] science into telling SF stories that inspired me." His "About the author" on Amazon is more extensive. Enough said, the trilogy looked interesting and as I was looking for a new hard science fiction author to follow, I purchased the series. I was sorely disappointed. The arc of the trilogy had as its target a 'Youth Audience' fair enough. However, what was totally unacceptable was the authorship. All three volumes are full of misspelling, grammatical errors, miscellaneous characters, paragraphs / passages copied and inserted further down in the body of the work. Just to name some. All these errors destroyed the narrative flow, for this there is no excuse. There are missed errors in most books yes, but they are very few and far between. The book's appears to have been generated on a computer and sent to the publisher without review, poof readers, editors, agents, friends or other entities involved. There are no acknowledgments in these volumes, the only credit given was for volume 3 cover image.
