Description

Astre is a stunning new art magazine from 3dtotal Publishing, featuring exclusive pieces from some of the best artists in the world.

With 100 pages, 10 exclusive pull-out prints, luxury finishes, mixed paper types, artist insights, and incredible artwork, Astre is a magazine like no other. This is a celebration of the art we love, made by real artists.

To celebrate 25 years of 3dtotal and show our support to a community we love, we wanted to make something that pushed back against AI, showcasing real art by real people in the best way possible, while also creating a true collector's item. This magazine is a culmination of everything we've learned over 25 years of making quality art content, books, and magazines. Our ambition is to make every issue feel like a collector's item, designed to increase in value over time. Each copy will be numbered and feature multiple paper types and special finishes - embossing, debossing, cut-outs, removable add-ons - if you can imagine it, then you should expect to find it in Astre magazine.

The first issue features incredible cover art by Andrew Hem, a Cambodia-born artist who lives in Los Angeles. We also have exclusive new prints by Canadian artists Audra Auclair and Janice Sung, Swedish artists Chantal Horeis and Feefal (who has 1.1m followers on Instagram), and award-winning Bulgarian artist now living in San Francisco, Eliza Ivanova - with more artists to be announced. Each artist will be the focus of an article featuring additional art and insights into their creative minds.

Each issue of Astre will only be available for a limited time and in limited quantities. So the choice is yours - keep it in mint condition as a piece of modern art history, or read it every day and hang all the incredible art on your wall.

We use the 3dtotal.com website and name to promote all our art titles. This includes adverts, announcements, features, and a free chapter on our site. We also use our various social media platforms to publicise the book: Facebook (197K Likes), Instagram (117K followers), X (50K followers), and Pinterest (8K followers). In addition we post promotional videos for all our books on YouTube (11K subscribers). Book releases are also announced to our mailing list of 15.5K subscribers.

In terms of print marketing we send out promotional postcards and a catalogue with all physical orders in our online shop to promote book titles that are about to be released. We also send review copies to popular magazines, websites, and blogs such as ImagineFX and Parka Blogs, and work with sites such as Creative Bloq and CG Cookie to promote the usefulness of our books on their websites. In addition we advertise our titles on the popular Character Design References Facebook page (930K Likes). Artists involved in the book are always asked to promote the book to their audience - this means our titles are often mentioned on social-media platforms with as many as a million followers.

About the Author
Edited by 3dtotal Publishing, based in Worcester, UK. Originally a digital artist's resource website, 3dtotal has grown into an industry-leading art-book publisher. Renowned for creating high-quality, inspirational, and practical tutorial books with some of the best artists working in the movie, games, animation, and publishing industries, 3dtotal Publishing sets the standard for modern art books.

Cover by Andrew Hem. Born during his parents' move from Cambodia in the wake of the Khmer Rouge genocide, Andrew Hem grew up between two cultures - the rural society of his Khmer ancestors, and the dynamic urban arts of the tough Los Angeles neighbourhood where his family came to rest. Fascinated by graffiti at an early age, he honed his skills with graphics and composition on the walls of the city before following a passion for figure drawing to a degree in illustration from Art Center College of Design. Working in gouache, oil, and acrylic, Andrew Hem weaves atmospheric, richly textured narratives in a vivid palette.

Contributions from Feefal. Feefal (real name Linnea) is a Swedish/Japanese artist with a following of over 1.1 million on Instagram. She is known for creating anthropomorphized figures and cute, spooky characters. She lives in Stockholm and she shares her art on Instagram on a regular basis. Feefal uses Procreate (digital software), graphite, and gouache for her work. She published a top-selling art book, The Art of Feefal with 3dtotal Publishing in 2022.

Absolutely Fantastic

This was my first time ordering from SciFier but it definitely won't be my last. When it comes to buying books online the packaging needs to be good, SciFier were great they used bubble wrap to make sure they arrived perfect. Amazing range of books that majority are lower priced than most book retailers. Wonderful service, I'll definitely be recommending to everyone. Thank you.
