Description

In a violent storm off the west coast of Anglesey in North Wales, a young woman is plucked from the sea by a rescue helicopter. She is unconscious and dressed in unusual clothing. The only evidence of her identity is the life jacket she is wearing bearing her name, lzzy, and the name of a yacht reported missing two weeks earlier. The crew are at odds to explain why, with no sign of wreckage or any other bodies, she is the only survivor from a family of five. Discover what happened to Izzy and her family as we join them four weeks earlier preparing to depart from Deganwy Marina on their yacht, Nicole, for their annual sailing holiday. Written with warmth and sensitivity for its main characters, Arthur's Seed will plunge you into a brutal yet beautiful world on a journey that has more twists and turns than a detective novel. You will be in awe of the scale of their hidden subterranean world and its secrets, but be warned, there are dark forces at work to take control of your mind and emotions at the turn of every page. For you will be moved to tears of sorrow and joy as lzzy and her two brothers' incredible story unfolds. Arthur's Seed: Cuddfan, Myrddin's Legacy is David's debut novel of a planned trilogy following the exploits of Izzy and her two brothers Daniel and George as they struggle to save the hidden world of Cuddfan from the forces of evil.

About the Author
David was born in 1948 in Swindon, Wiltshire. The eldest of five siblings, he left school at the age of fifteen to begin a five-year engineering apprenticeship at a local company in Dursley, Gloucestershire. In his early twenties he married and had two daughters, Emma and Sarah. In his early forties he became divorced, and after facing redundancy, started his own company making steel armour for re-enactors and museums. In the late nineties he was approached by a local artist to form a partnership and together they went on to make Roman armour for the Ridley Scott film Gladiator. After meetings with the costume designer he developed a unique process for producing the large amount of armour the production needed. After the success of the film, which won five Academy Awards including best Costume Design, David's reputation for the quality of his armour grew. He put this down to the skill of his dedicated team of talented craftspeople who worked with him, and to the uniqueness of the process. Within months of Gladiator's cinema release, costume designers came knocking at his door. In 2000 David dissolved the business partnership and went on to build up the company alone. By the time he sold the company in 2008 he and his team had worked on many of the major Hollywood epics to hit the big screen. An insider in the industry once said of him that he and his process had changed the face of film making forever. He is proud of the knowledge that the process he helped to develop is still in use today. After moving to Bristol to start his own video production company, the 2008 bank crash forced him to retire, so in 2009 he decided to buy a yacht and live aboard her in obscurity in Deganwy Marina, North Wales. After spending a few months working on the yacht to make her more comfortable to live on, he sailed her to Menai Strait on a swinging mooring and it was here he began writing Arthur's Seed. He returned to Deganwy Marina in the late summer of 2010 and began developing his short story into a novel. During the first Covid-19 lockdown, frustrated by the process of trying to get publishers interested in his book, David decided he would release the book in serial form chapter by chapter as free video podcasts on Facebook. Encouraged by feedback from fans of the series he created his own website and released the episodes from there. It wasn't long before his growing fanbase were asking 'when the next episode was due' and more importantly, 'where could they buy the book?' Reassured by their enthusiasm for his story and characters he finally decided, at the age of 72, to self-publish.
