The evil wizard Malvic is on the rise again and a war is coming.
While away learning warrior skills, Autumn is shocked to hear that a village has been attacked. It turns out that the perpetrators were searching for a magical book which could aid in the fight against the wizard. The purpose of the journey is to seek out the well of magic that Alton has read about which could help them defeat Malvic. But where is Shining Leaves when they need him? He has not been seen for some time and he might be a fierce dragon, but Tan is nevertheless very concerned about the dragon's safety.
