Description

A fascinating historical biography of the man who brought fame, grandeur and revolution back to the Palace of Versailles.

Henri de Nolhac grew up without a father...though his father, Pierre, was very much alive and working mere meters away from their home at the Palace of Versailles.

Once appointed to the Palace in 1887, Pierre de Nolhac dedicated his life to protecting its historical archives and restoring Versailles to its former glory: an agora of politics, art and culture. But it soon became more than a passion to him--it turned into an obsession, and the closer he got to Versailles, the further he drifted from his family and himself.

About the Author
After studying contemporary history and experience in journalism, Maite Labat worked 8 years at the Palace of Versailles. It is from this experience that her desire to tell the story of Versailles: My Father's Castle, was born. Maite works today at the Louvre Museum.

Jean-Baptiste Veber caught the writing bug at the age of 10 years old, and hasn't found a cure yet... He is the author of several novels including Igor a l'etroit and Ragots de lapin.

An illustrator, painter, watercolorist and 3D graphic designer, Alexis Vitrebert has many artistic talents, engaging in projects ranging from frescoes to posters. In 2018, he also illustrated a children's book entitled Les betises d'Albert (Albert's Nonsense).

Absolutely Fantastic

This was my first time ordering from SciFier but it definitely won't be my last. When it comes to buying books online the packaging needs to be good, SciFier were great they used bubble wrap to make sure they arrived perfect. Amazing range of books that majority are lower priced than most book retailers. Wonderful service, I'll definitely be recommending to everyone. Thank you.
