    “Not all monsters are born from the gods, my queen. Some of us were made.” Shield of Sparrows started off kinda slow for me. The first half dragged a bit and felt a little repetitive, but once things picked up, I really got into it. What truly carried the story for me were the main characters. I loved their dynamic and how layered they both were. There were a few juicy twists I did not see coming, and some secrets spilled that added a lot of depth to the plot. But let's talk about that ending... The cliffhanger. It ate! I didn't expect to be left staring at the last page like that, needing the next book immediately.
