Description

Britain, 2019. The secluded rural village of Harrowvale holds a dark past-that years earlier, on a farm bordering the vast tracts of woodland, it hosted a cult that was seeking to escape civilisation and find purity in the old ways, namely worshipping an ancient deity called Thistlebone. Led by the charismatic Jasper Hillman, their pagan beliefs grew ever more radical to the point where they held the young Avril Eason captive with the intention of sacrificing her. But Avril escaped...

Midsommar meets The Wicker Man in this break-out original folk-horror graphic novel from the pages of 2000 AD!

About the Author
Simon Davis began working in comics in the early 1990s but has also worked as a storyboard artist and magazine illustrator. Among the many characters he has drawn for 2000 AD, he is probably best known for his work on Sinister Dexter with Dan Abnett, Stone Island and Ampney Crucis Investigates with Ian Edginton and Black Siddha with Pat Mills. He divides his time between comic work and portrait painting and is the Vice-President of the Royal Society of Portrait Painters (RP).

"It's an incredible strip, full of taut, tight storytelling, a lesson in how to build tension, send a chill down your spine, make you wonder just where it's all going to go, Thistlebone is one of those strips that may well be remembered long in the memory of comic fans." - comicon.com

"Very firmly in the British horror vein that 2000 AD does so well" - All-Comic

"Brings serious chill-power to 2000 AD" - Doomrocket
