About the Author
Fernando Dagnino is a Spanish artist who has worked as a comic book illustrator for many publishers, including DC and Marvel. Dagnino's artistic career started out during his last years of university studying a Master's in English Studies. He worked for The Walt Disney Company's Imagineers designing an attraction permanently exhibited in Florida. In 2008, Dagnino abandoned the advertising industry to start to work for DC Comics exclusively. That same year he published his first children's book (Kasandra y la Rebelion de los ninos). Dagnino became the regular penciller of the comic Superman with issue #692. He also did the art for the Green Lantern Prequel Special: Sinestro #1. As part of DC Comics' company-wide 2011 title relaunch, The New 52, Dagnino was made the artist on Resurrection Man. He subsequently took over art duties on Suicide Squad, beginning with issue #9. In 2020, Dagnino was assigned as the artist for Titan's Blade Runner: Origins comic.
Reviews
"Gracefully succeeds in making the reader understand Yuki's pain and duality ... artist Fernando Dagnino drawing skills really help to make every action scene shine. Narratively and esthetically interesting, we strongly recommend Smart Girl to everyone who's into roboethics, to every fan of Asimov and Philip K. Dick and to every nonchalant smartphone user who, one day, dropped their device a little too hard on the ground and now fears some kind of retaliation!" - Bayday
