Description
The Moon of Hesperia: Phoenix, a gifted but amnesiac policeman witnesses the murder of his teammate. His investigation leads him to Solar Corona, the city-planet of all debauchery, where he crosses paths with the Simaks - transhumans originally designed for prostitution, who were supposed to have been eradicated as a result of repeated bugs. However, they discovered something much more sinister in their technology.
In the heart of this violent and corrupt universe, his thirst for justice will lead Phoenix on a trail to discover the Simaks' origins and their capacity for destruction.
About the Author
Jerry Frissen (born Thierry Frissen in Belgium) is an American comic book writer and toy & graphic designer. He is the Editor-in-Chief of the recently relaunched comics anthology magazine Metal Hurlant in France, as well as the author of several best-selling graphic novels, including the anthology comic book series Lucha Libre (Unfabulous Five, The Tikitis), The Fire of Theseus, Exo, Simak, and the new cycle of the internationally acclaimed series The Metabarons, co-written with Alejandro Jodorowsky and illustrated by Valentin Secher, Niko Henrichon, and Pete Woods.
His book The Zombies That Ate The World, illustrated by Guillermo Del Toro collaborator Guy Davis, was recently adapted by RKSS of Turbo Kid for the silver screen as We Are Zombies.
Jean-Michel Ponzio graduated in 1985 from a patent of Technician Draftsman Modeling in Marseille. He went on to study advertising communications at the Ecole Nationale Superieure des Arts Appliques and Arts Metiers in Paris and added to his curriculum a patent of Technician Superior in visual expression. His first short film, aller retour (round-trip) went on to win an award at the Gerardmer Festival in 1991. After earning a diploma of advanced study in "digital imaging" at the CNBDI in Angouleme, he won the first INA pixel award in the student category at the Imagina show in Monaco. From 1996 to 2000, he worked first at Ghost, on the Insektors series, then at Buf company on the development of scenery and design for various film and advertising productions. (Batman and Robin, Fight club, S1m0ne, among others). Today, Jean-Michel Ponzio is devoted to comics with the 2004 release of T'ien Keou, after two short stories by Laurent Genefort. He then went on to develop Genetiks, a story about human cloning, placed at Futuropolis and The Chimpanzee Complex, a great space adventure published by Dargaud. In 2012, he succeeded Paul Gillon to complete the series The Order of Cicero, Volume 4 Glenat editions. Also at Glenat, 2 volumes of Black Lord appear in 2014 on a screenplay by Guillaume Dorison. He signed a deal with Dargaud, again with Richard Marazano, to develop The Pelican Protocol and Memoirs of the Civil War. In addition to a busy cartoonist activity, the author continues to design sets for feature film projects for film and commercials. (Most recently Valerian Luc Besson).
