Description

CSI meets Harry Potter in this graphic novel from Ben Aaronovitch, writer of the bestselling Rivers of London supernatural police procedural crime novel series, and Andrew Cartmel author of The Vinyl Detective. Includes 3 stunning art cards! A stunning box set edition of the bestselling graphic novels in the Rivers of London series, starring Ben Aaronovitch's laconic trainee wizard and budding detective, Peter Grant. Vol 7: Action at a Distance Thomas Nightingale is a man of immense power, one of the most highly revered magicians in Europe, but with a guarded past. Hidden within the archives of London Metropolitan Police's Special Assessment Unit, Detective Constable Peter Grant is about to uncover a brief glimpse into his mentor's history. Vol 8: The Fey and the Furious When a Mitsubishi Eclipse washes up on the shores of the Netherlands, officers are surprised to find some unusual cargo in its boot. Fortunately, unusual cargo just so happens to be wizarding-cop Peter Grant's speciality. Infiltrating illegal street races, Peter hopes to find the supplier, but instead quickly finds himself speeding into a whole new world of trouble, where old enemies await. Vol 9: Monday, Monday What starts as a routine undercover operation to break up an organised teenage pickpocket gang turns into something far more dangerous when the Metropolitan police are confronted by a Swedish werewolf who'll stop at nothing to avoid capture. Now it's up to full-time cop and part-time wizard Peter Grant and his cohort of chums to hunt the deadly lycanthrope and bring him to heel!

About the Author
Andrew Cartmel was born in London and grew up in midwestern Canada where, among other things, he learned the meaning of the words "wind chill factor." The fine public libraries of his childhood provided a rich feast (Ray Bradbury, Robert Heinlein, the Oz books) and Andrew never wanted to be anything except a writer. On returning to London to study at university, his game plan was to support himself writing for television while getting established as a novelist. This led him into a detour - and down a rabbit hole - which included a distinguished sojourn script editing Doctor Who for three years (search "Cartmel masterplan"). At the same time, he began writing for comics and today he co-writes the Rivers of London graphic novels. A playwright and crime novelist, Andrew created the Vinyl Detective while listening to a lot of music, most of it good. Most of it very good. Andrew Cartmel lives in London with too many books, too many records and just enough cats. Ben Aaronovitch has written for TV, his credits including Doctor Who and Casualty; his Rivers of London novels have been international bestsellers and he has finally fulfilled his dream of adding a comic to the series; in this he has been joined by fellow writer and regular Doctor Who contributor Andrew Cartmel. The series is drawn by yet another Doctor Who creator, Matthew Dow Smith, who has also illustrated the likes of Hellboy, Supernatural: Origins and Sandman Mystery Theatre. Residence: UK Author Site: http://www.the-folly.com/ Jose Maria Beroy. Spanish comic book artist, colourist and scriptwriter has over 36 years of experience working in advertising, animation and comic publishing and was born in Barcelona in 1962. His work has been published in the USA, Spain, Germany, France, Belgium, Holland, Italy, Brazil, Sweden and Denmark. He has drawn Deadman for DC Comics and Doctor Who. Mariano Laclaustra is a comic artist from Buenos Aires, Argentina, published in both Europe and the US. Brian Williamson is a London-based comics, book and storyboard artist who has drawn Torchwood, Primeval, Spider-Man and many more - as well as comic book biographies of Michael Jackson (Neverland) and The Ramones (Gabba Gabba Hey!).

Reviews
Praise for the series: "A delight from start to finish" - Crime Review Consistently fun and entertaining in equal measure, always worth your money and time - NerdlyA police procedural crossed with fantasy mystery ... I highly recommend this book - Major Spoilers Amazing writing and interior artwork that will guarantee you will be a fan for life - Reading With A Flight Ring "The magic or falcon, as police slang would have it is pleasingly grounded here, creating a world of subtle intricacies rather than dazzling fireworks, and the supernatural is blended into the police procedural with satisfying realism. The characters are familiar but engaging enough, and the art does much to make each face distinctive and expressive as well as give the story its down-to-earth sturdiness." - Booklist
