Description

'Why read Jack McDevitt? The question should be: Who among us is such a slow pony that s/he isn't reading McDevitt?' Harlan Ellison

To boost waning interest in interstellar travel, a mission is sent into deep space to learn the truth about 'moonriders', the strange lights supposedly being seen in nearby systems.

But the team soon discovers that their odyssey is no mere public-relations ploy, for the moonriders are no harmless phenomenon. They are very, very dangerous ... in a way that no one could possibly have imagined.

'McDevitt's energetic, character-driven prose serves double duty by exploring Earth's future political climate and forecasting the potential dangers awaiting humanity among the stars' Booklist

A Nebula Award and Campbell Award finalist for Best Novel from the multi-award winning SF master Jack McDevitt. Fifth in the acclaimed Academy series.

About the Author
Jack McDevitt is a former naval officer, taxi driver, English teacher, and motivational trainer, and is now a full-time writer. Eleven of his novels have been Nebula finalists, and SEEKER won the award in 2007. In 2015 Jack won the Robert A. Heinlein Award, given an author of outstanding published works in science fiction and technical writings that inspire the human exploration of space. McDevitt was selected as the winner in recognition of his body of work, which includes over 21 novels and 81 short stories. McDevitt lives in Georgia with his wife Maureen.

Reviews
Jack McDevitt is that splendid rarity, a writer who is a storyteller first and a science fiction writer second. In his ability to absolutely rivet the reader, it seems to me that he is the logical heir to Isaac Asimov and Arthur C. Clarke -- Stephen King

Absolutely Fantastic

This was my first time ordering from SciFier but it definitely won't be my last. When it comes to buying books online the packaging needs to be good, SciFier were great they used bubble wrap to make sure they arrived perfect. Amazing range of books that majority are lower priced than most book retailers. Wonderful service, I'll definitely be recommending to everyone. Thank you.
