About the Author
Riff Reb's was born in Algeria and lived his formative years in Le Havre, France. He attended The School of Decorative Arts and later co-founded the Azylum Studio, a place of creativity of now-recognized artists. Their first project, Spartakus and the Sun Beneath the Sea, an animated series, was adapted simultaneously as a comic book. After years of publishing comics in France and developing a bittersweet drawing style, Riff Reb's has become a leading figure in a new school of comic books, skillfully blending a dynamic, innovative drawing style with an often-irreverent style of speech.
Reviews
"A storybook style that entrancingly depicts deep emotions with its use of stark, macabre colors, harsh shading, and darkly cartoonish faces." - Publishers Weekly
"Men at Sea is one of the most striking collections of short works in comics seen in some time.... This is a virtual treasure trove for those who love art, literature, and history." - Comics Grinder
"Riff Reb's is a truly remarkable storyteller; his artwork is timeless and evocative and his skills at writing easily match it. [...] Strange and beautiful in equal measure, this is a fine example of what can be done with the medium of the graphic novel." - Hellbound.ca
