Description
Leopard is one of fashion's most celebrated prints. In constant reinvention, it only grows stronger as each generation finds new ways to wear it. Whether styled as a classic neutral or gleefully kitsch accessory, leopard print is fashion's perennial wild card.
In this passionate celebration, acclaimed fashion journalist Hilary Alexander traces leopard print's remarkable journey from Neolithic cave paintings and Greek mythology to contemporary popularity. Leopard showcases an astonishing array of icons who have shaped the print's legacy, including: Jackie O, Grace Jones, Kate Moss, Beyonce and Nicki Minaj.
With over 150 stunning photographs, Leopard explores the print's enduring appeal across film, fashion, music, art and pop culture. From Versace and YSL to Cavalli and Dior, from Audrey Hepburn in Charade to Prince, Warhol and the Sex Pistols - we discover ways in which leopard print has crossed divides of politics, class, geography, creative mediums and taste.
An exuberant visual love letter to fashion's enduring and charismatic print, Leopard is a must-have for anyone fascinated by style, culture, and the patterns that define us.
