Description

A delightful collection of stories about friendship from the award-winning former Children's Laureate Anne Fine.

Once best friends, always best friends. Nothing can come between Jamie and Angus - a boy and his toy Highland bull. Join them as they tackle a lively play mate, get muddled in a pretend game, and discover that playing isn't fun unless they are doing it together.

These heartwarming stories for young readers are filled with playful adventures and lessons in just how wonderful friends can be. They are brought to life with enchanting black and white illustrations from the celebrated author-illustrator Sam Usher.

About the Author

Anne Fine is a distinguished writer for adults and children. She has twice won both the Carnegie Medal and the Whitbread Children's Book Award, and her novel Madame Doubtfire was adapted into the hugely successful film Mrs Doubtfire. In 2001 Anne became Children's Laureate and in 2003 she was awarded an OBE. Anne is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature and her work has been translated into over forty languages. She has two grown-up daughters and lives in County Durham.

Sam Usher is the celebrated author-illustrator of the bestselling picture books Snow, Rain, Sun and Storm and has illustrated many other stories. He has been shortlisted for the Waterstones Children's Book Prize, the Red House Children's Book Award and longlisted for the Kate Greenaway Medal, and is particularly admired for his technical drawing skill and prowess with watercolour. He is also a talented pianist and can often be found perfecting a fiendishly difficult piece of Chopin. He lives in Somerset.

Reviews
Jamie's everyday dilemmas are familiar to young children and will encourage them to share their own experiences; happily, there is always a cheerful ending. * The Observer *

Absolutely Fantastic

This was my first time ordering from SciFier but it definitely won't be my last. When it comes to buying books online the packaging needs to be good, SciFier were great they used bubble wrap to make sure they arrived perfect. Amazing range of books that majority are lower priced than most book retailers. Wonderful service, I'll definitely be recommending to everyone. Thank you.
