Description
Meet Harry Dresden, Chicago's first (and only) Wizard P.I. Turns out the 'everyday' world is full of strange and magical things - and most of them don't play well with humans. That's where Harry comes in.
Harry has faced some terrifying foes during his career. Giant scorpions. Oversexed vampires. Psychotic werewolves. It comes with the territory when you're the only wizard in town. But in all Harry's years of supernatural sleuthing, he's never faced anything like this: the spirit world's gone loco. All over town, ghosts are causing trouble - and not the door-slamming, boo-shouting variety. These ghosts are tormented, violent, and deadly. Someone is stirring them up to wreak havoc. But why? And why do so many of the victims have ties to Harry? If Harry doesn't figure it out soon, he might just wind up a ghost himself.
Magic - it can get a guy killed.
An action-packed case file from Harry Dresden, private investigator and wizard, by international bestselling author Jim Butcher

What a read!
Some novels make me cry. Some get me angry. Some make me laugh. Some frustrate me. But I don't think I've ever held my breath while reading a book before! I've heard, on a number of occasions, that The Dresden Files books don't really get good until book four or five. Well, considering this book hit all of my positivity buttons and earned a well-deserved five-star rating, I can't even imagine what might be in store for future reads! Again, it astonishes me just how much Butcher can cram into a single book without anything feeling forced or out of place. The amount of characters, elements, ideas, goings on, interactions, action and emotion to be found among these pages can only be attributed to magic in itself. And the most repressive thing about it is it never feels overwhelming, you never feel lost as a reader.
