Description

Throughout history, stories have been told of a 'spirit creature', a many-headed snake, that appears out of nowhere, devouring animals and people. To the nomadic people of the Sahara, it was the 'Sand Devil', in Native American stories 'Llao, the spirit of the below world. The Aboriginal people of Australia had their own name for it, as did the tribes of the South African svelte who left sacrifices of goats and oxen to placate it. When a rotund lady mayoress is whisked from the stage at a village fete into a hole in the sky, it is photographed for the first time and sets off a chain of events that will rock the world.

Adult science fiction. Buzzwords: space, alien, alternative reality, other dimension.

About the Author
Joe Gillespie is a retired graphic designer who is now based in Bristol. Since retiring he has focused on a number of creative and artistic projects, including three science fiction novels each with their own unique tangent and flavour. Having spent his life working in graphic design and having won two awards for his work in advertising in the 1980s, Joe has a long history of producing resourceful and inventive excellence, which is exemplified in the way he melds different worlds together in his novels. His love of nature and animals makes him passionate about the impact and welfare of both these creatures and humans in a general sense.

Reviews
A woman is pulled into the sky by a vicious alien life form at a village fete and it is captured on camera for the first time. So here begins Joe Gillespie's third novel Exopod, and it progresses as an exhilarating voyage through consistently vivid attacks and modern science. As expected, Gillespie's narrative is rooted in the relationship between humanity and outer space, but the detail and imagination with which he writes about the elements of both ensures that the pace is unswerving and the depth at which humans interact with each other is always relatable. Exopod uses a back-to-basics and down-to-earth sensibility to create perennially intriguing and gripping reading. - Review by Jack Mckeever

This was my first time ordering from SciFier but it definitely won't be my last. When it comes to buying books online the packaging needs to be good, SciFier were great they used bubble wrap to make sure they arrived perfect. Amazing range of books that majority are lower priced than most book retailers. Wonderful service, I'll definitely be recommending to everyone. Thank you.
