Description

Exodus of Evil is a tale that tells how evil came into the world. The book opens in present day Australia where strange and disturbing reports of communities disappearing without trace, or known cause, come to the attention of the government of the day. We then meet Angel Deborah and Ruth, a heroic perfect human from the distant past, who plan together how to rescue mankind from a fate not intended for man's eventual rise to the top of the evolutionary ladder. The impact of evil in man is the great battle for good to challenge. The tale tells of the arrival of Deborah and Ruth as emissaries sent from the past to aid the dwarves in their impossible battle with the growing evil caused by Yonlik, emissary of Satan. The dwarves, an early species of mankind, are almost without evil and hold true to their faith in the Creator. The book tells the tale of their battles with the evil horde that is infesting the world and how they give up everything in the name of good and their trust in the Creator, in an attempt to protect the other human species from infection by evil. The tale then reverts to the present day and what occurs here. Book One ends on a climax. The story will continue (Creator and fate of the writer allowing).

About the Author
David has worked as a mental health nurse for the past twenty-five years and had lots of adventures prior to this, such as working in the Forties oil field as a deck operator, and later in self-employment and various other career opportunities, but it was mental health nursing that stuck. David has always been interested in the healthy mind and how it is that so many people are prepared to commit evil acts against their fellow man or woman. Mental health became the topic of self-preservation when David's third child died as an infant. "It was the worst day of my life. I felt I had lost everything. All safety and comfort stripped away. I couldn't make sense of the world and it took me a long time to learn to cope with the deep sense of loss. Eventually I realised that I had to go on with life and from that point on dedicated myself to attempting good acts and offering hope to those in despair. Doing it in memory of my son and what his death taught me gave me structure and new purpose." Nursing enabled David to develop his understanding and compassion for people in the middle of mental health crises. David's describes Exodus of Evil as late in the making. He says that he was given a passion for reading when he was in his teens and was inspired to learn the freedom that reading gives everyone. His mother, Pam, encouraged his interest in C S Lewis and the Narnia books and, as a Catholic by tradition, he saw the beauty in those stories amid the excitement and threat of evil. As a teenager, David became an avid fan of JRR Tolkien and was fortunate to be given a signed copy of The Lord of the Rings when his parents went to tea with Professor Tolkien. The book is his prized possession and heirloom. David devoured books of the magical by Dennis Wheatley which crossed his path. He stayed up all night reading The Devil Rides Out and had to finish the book before any attempt at sleep was possible. His interest extended to the works of Stephen Donaldson and Lord Foul's Bane and lots of Science Fiction by many of the best writers of the genre. Like many people, David loves to lose himself in the pages of a good book and believes there is no better way to truly relax. David is ever searching for ways to help people discover more about themselves. He believes reading good books allows for adventure and self-growth through reflecting on stories old and new. The wisdom of others can give rise to change in the values of readers as they reflect on the pleasure they gain from books. David offers the caution that his story is not for younger children. It has been written for his teenage and adult children. Exodus of Evil is David's first book and has been a labour of love in the writing that he has shared with his children and his wife, Nicci, who tolerated his absence at the dinner table on many evenings when the story had to be written. It is a new beginning and not the end of David's hopes for the story. He is currently writing Book Two which continues the tale from Book One.
