Description

All alone in wild, remote places... obsessively pursuing their quarry in the fading light... is it any wonder so many anglers claim to have witnessed ghosts? In a change from the usual haunted houses and gothic go-to's, these original tales of tragedy, redemption and the unexpected feature a variety of watery realms, including a Highland river, an Irish lough, a North American wilderness, a Cornish seascape, long-lost carp lakes, and a Ukrainian water source with magical properties. There are echoes of real history thrown in for good measure, including the English Civil War, the Second World War and even a Victorian serial killer. So prepare for some chills at the water's edge... and beyond it.

About the Author
Peter Wise is a professional copywriter. Disturbing the Water is his first book of fiction. The style of his ghost stories has been variously compared to MR James, Robert Aickmann, Reggie Oliver, Edith Nesbit and WW Jacobs. He lives in Stoke Newington, North London, with his wife Kay. They have two grown-up daughters.

Reviews
'Wise has managed to create a delightfully creepy, yet mindfully enthralling bundle of stories. Each one stands alone as a tantalising peek into other times and places where everything is not quite as it seems.' - Chris Coppel, author of 'Lingering', 'Lunacy' and 'Last Light'

Absolutely Fantastic

This was my first time ordering from SciFier but it definitely won't be my last. When it comes to buying books online the packaging needs to be good, SciFier were great they used bubble wrap to make sure they arrived perfect. Amazing range of books that majority are lower priced than most book retailers. Wonderful service, I'll definitely be recommending to everyone. Thank you.
