Description

A standalone supernatural thriller from the author of the chilling Merrily Watkins Mysteries.

December has the shortest days, the darkest nights... In the ruins of a medieval abbey on the Welsh Border, four young musicians start work on an album influenced by the site's bloody history. It's December 1980 - the night John Lennon will be murdered in New York. And there'll be more horror before the sun rises and the session tapes are burned. Or are they?

Years later, Moira, Dave, Tom and Simon are persuaded to return to the abbey to complete the recordings they thought had been destroyed. But the old tapes - and all the darkness they contain - have been restored. And it's December again.

A PHIL RICKMAN STANDALONE NOVEL

In the ruins of a medieval abbey, four musicians hope to tap into the site's dark atmosphere. Instead they unleash a haunting evil from the past... A supernatural thriller that explores the darker side of rural life, where primal fears and ancient longings haunt the present day...

Reviews
Gripping throughout. Powerful, classic stuff. * The Times *
Crisp prose, excellent dialogue and real sense of mounting evil. * Time Out *
Grimly sinister. Written with blood-curdling aplomb. * Sunday Telegraph *
Phil Rickman is one of my all-time favorites. I love everything he's done, from horror to mystery to supernatural thriller - often all in the same book. -- Diana Gabaldon

Absolutely Fantastic

This was my first time ordering from SciFier but it definitely won't be my last. When it comes to buying books online the packaging needs to be good, SciFier were great they used bubble wrap to make sure they arrived perfect. Amazing range of books that majority are lower priced than most book retailers. Wonderful service, I'll definitely be recommending to everyone. Thank you.
