Description

"We should all be so lucky as to have a Lorne Turner to call on. This series is great escapism, yet strangely rooted in reality that will touch every reader..." from Talyor

"The author certainly knows how to write compelling characters and keep the pace moving along and a good clip..." from Steph

"This is a truly gripping page-turner of a novel that left me seriously looking forward to the next book..." from the Occult Detective Magazine

"Readers of Stephen King will find it engaging; a haunting, occult thriller with a twist..." from the Number9BlogSpot

"Until now, I'd searched in vain for another book along the lines of Phil Rickman's Merrily Watkins series. Thank you for more than meeting my expectations..." from Jay

The body of a dead man leads Lorne Turner into a world he never thought existed. One of mysticism, the occult, corruption and greed.

After twenty years in the British Special Forces, Lorne thought he knew all he needed to about the sickness of the human mind. It turns out, he was wrong.

With a ritual sacrifice polluting his precious homeland, Lorne will stop at nothing to uncover the truth.

Who is the mysterious Scorpio, and what do the Gnostic Dawn hope to achieve? Why are the police refusing to see the ritual elements carved into the dead?

He turns to his best friend, the local vicar, Ella Morgan, for help. Together they uncover horrors that will infect their lives for years to come.

Trained for war, he now fights a darkness far more dangerous than anything he's faced in his past.

What will break first? His damaged mind? Or the bodies of his enemies?

If you enjoyed Stephen King's The Outsider, you'll find the same gripping atmosphere and suspenseful thrills in Lorne Turner's investigation. This occult, supernatural thriller is the first book in a Best Selling series.

About the Author
Joe Talon is an author used to walking in a place where you're never quite certain if the world is full of rainbows or shadows. Real life holds little interest.
Having grown up on Exmoor, Joe has been fascinated by the mysterious and spooky places that dwell in the dark woodlands and quiet combes. In Joe's first series, the world is a little sideways from ours. It is full of shapes moving on the edge of our vision when they shouldn't and cold spots in warm places. For Joe, there is always the question, 'what would I do if'?
When writing crime, Joe tangles with gangsters and dealers, murderers and thieves, all in the small town of Glastonbury. A place known for its otherness.
Joe's Cornish adventures once more explore the supernatural blending with real world events. If you would like to know more, do come and join the Taloneers. You can easily find Joe in the usual haunts of writers, (I'm not allowed to give you my digital address). There are all kinds of mysteries and fun to be had.
What spare time Joe has is spent with seven dogs, lots of walks, chaotic gardening, and exploring the strange worlds just the other side of what we think we know to be real. Who needs real life when there are books!

Absolutely Fantastic

This was my first time ordering from SciFier but it definitely won't be my last. When it comes to buying books online the packaging needs to be good, SciFier were great they used bubble wrap to make sure they arrived perfect. Amazing range of books that majority are lower priced than most book retailers. Wonderful service, I'll definitely be recommending to everyone. Thank you.
