Description

Cleo is sad. She always has to hurry. To the bus. To school. She often feels lonely. But one day she'll go far away, to a place where she defeats sea monsters and where clouds taste like whipped cream. Only her cat will come with her. But suddenly there is a boy...A touching story about a girl who isn't as alone as she thought she was. For daydreamers aged 5 and up.

Reviews
"A beautifully drawn picture book with a fantastical, upbeat daydream/adventure theme." -- Joel Smith, reviewer "Absolutely stunning...is a book that all ages can enjoy." -- Jessica Heller, Elementary School Educator "Beautiful. The illustrations are fantastic!" -- Shannon Hearne, Librarian "I can't wait to share at our story time." -- Cindy Bitzer, Bookworm Books "Beautifully illustrated story. The watercolor style illustrations draw the reader into the story and brings Cleo's daydreams to life. As a long time daydreamer I related to Cleo, her loneliness, and her imaginings almost immediately. I think readers and dreamers of all ages will enjoy the artwork and Cleo's feelings immensely." -- Sharon Tyler, Cheshire Public Library "Obsessed with the illustrations in this book. Each page is more beautiful than the one before. The imagery contained on the pages of this book is both poignant and reminiscent of dreams that we sometimes have, where no words have to be spoken, yet it can be explained perfectly. I am definitely going to be seeking out more books by this author, and publishing house!" -- Kathryn Zebrowski, Educator "????? WOW! What gorgeous art! I was so mesmerized by the illustrations and I would love to frame and hang them up. Drop Everything And Read!" - My Novelesque Life blog "Stunning. As a teacher I always choose books that have beautiful illustrations, and Cleo certainly delivers. The overall theme of feeling alone is something any child can relate to, as well as having a vivid imagination and dreaming with friends. The art work is breathtaking. It made me want to tear pages out just so I could frame them. I will definitely be adding this to my collection." -- Debbie Bookgirl "Really looking forward to reading this beautifully illustrated book with my students. With the document camera, I can zoom in and let them really focus on various parts of a book...This lovely story lends itself to many possible lessons after a nice read-aloud. Using both cursive and print, the story will give students practice in decoding the illusive cursive code, and figurative language use abounds. I will be purchasing this one for our K-5 library." -- Ronda Foust, Librarian, Hardin Valley Elementary School "Just beautiful. Kids will love the beautiful imagery, in particular, "clouds are as soft as cotton wool and they taste like whipped cream." The book has two great messages, first, you are never alone and second, your imagination can take you anywhere! I would definitely purchase this book for my school library." -- Sabrina Kotyk, Librarian "A wonderful picture book with absolutely gorgeous illustrations...inspires children to imagine and daydream as well as to realize that they are not alone." -- Carla Johnson-Hicks, Elementary Educator

When it comes to buying books online the packaging needs to be good, SciFier were great they used bubble wrap to make sure they arrived perfect. Amazing range of books that majority are lower priced than most book retailers. Wonderful service, I'll definitely be recommending to everyone. Thank you.
