Description

Three hundred years ago, a cult opened a rift to the demon realm in an attempt to summon the demon god Istral. Though they were defeated by the sibyl, a being blessed with divine magic, the rift remains, and the kingdom of Niawa remained ravaged by demons. That is until a sibyl chose a champion to be granted the physical strength to fight the demons through their magic. For seventy years, they have lived by the rift, protecting the kingdom and returning on the Day of Breath, the one day a year the rift closes. Oly is the longest living champion, now in her tenth year of guarding Niawa. Despite never returning home, she clings to her calling, stemming from her troubled childhood. But Oly's powers are fading, and in order to continue her duty, she needs to find a way to get them back, and fast. However disaster strikes when a new parasitic demon emerges from the rift, and with it, the spread of death. Amidst the bloodshed, and with her strength fading fast, will Oly be able to defeat the demons and stop a horrific new world order, with Istral at its heart?

About the Author
Darby Cox is a self-described giant dork who loves to write about complex and flawed characters in fantasy and speculative settings. She has lived in over seven countries and states, including Alaska, Sicily, and Guam, and attributes her love of storytelling to all the cultures she has grown up around. When she isn't escaping into a book or writing, Darby is out in nature or working in independent music and nonprofits as a marketer. She currently lives in Philly with her dog Milez but dreams every day of moving to the coast of Ireland and opening up a coffee shop/bookstore.

Absolutely Fantastic

This was my first time ordering from SciFier but it definitely won't be my last. When it comes to buying books online the packaging needs to be good, SciFier were great they used bubble wrap to make sure they arrived perfect. Amazing range of books that majority are lower priced than most book retailers. Wonderful service, I'll definitely be recommending to everyone. Thank you.
